WHAT'S NEW

Don't forget to check out the Upcoming Hikes & Events and our Get-Away Overnight Hike Trips!

ALTERNATIVE HIKE.....if there is considerable rain and we need a dry surface for a hike; this will be the "substitute".

This hike will remain posted until it is necessary to use it........then it will change.  We will always have an alternative hike posted to be prepared for Winter weather conditions.  It is up to the weeks leader to make the decision to use this hike.

Tilden EBRPark at Inspiration Point.

Secondary Alternative hike:  San Leandro Marina

Tuesday AM, May 13th

It is a favorite this week!!  Chabot EBRPark at Marciel Gate (actually it is the parking area/bathroom just before the family camp!) for a fabulous, winding trek through the woods, beside the water and up to the peak for a lovely overview of the Southern end of the Bay!!

Watch the Eucalyptus nut pods....I call them "roller balls" that are everywhere at this time of year!  They can be a slipping/falling hazard for sure!!  The drive to the trailhead is a delight as you wind behind Redwood and Chabot Parks into an area you would think was in the Sierras!!

Soak up the Nature of it all and enjoy the serenity of seeming to be far, far from the crowded city!

Anda is scheduled to be your leader this week and will meet the Alameda group at the ParknRide.

The Alameda carpool group will leave the Bayfarm ParknRide at 8:30 sharp to arrive at the trailhead a bit after 9:00 AM.

Come on out and TAKE A HIKE!!!

Wednesday AM, May 14th

It is another week to hike in beautiful, diverse Redwood EBRPark beginning at Redwood Gate!! The Stream Trail as well as French trail are always favorites and really very hard to "beat"!  The giant Redwoods, the winding single track trail, the varied terrain........maybe water in the "Stream"???  It will be fabulous, renewing and perhaps you will find some wildflowers....look carefully, they can hide in this shady paradise!

Jean is back in town and will be your leader for this weeks hike and will meet the group at theTrailhead.

The Alameda carpool group will leave the Bayfarm ParknRide promptly at 8:30 and should be at the trailhead easily by 9:00am.

Enjoy your time in the peaceful and beautiful Redwood forest!!
