Why

Plummeting 620 feet from its source on Larch Mountain, Multnomah Falls is the second highest year-round waterfall in the U.S. It has taken approximately 12,000 years to geologically form the "amphitheater" shape of the backdrop of the Falls. Hikers will be inspired by the force of tumbling water and cooling spray on trails amid an ever changing landscape: timeless beauty, majestic, forests; green, lichen-covered rocks and never-ending ferns on hillsides. The walls of the Columbia River Gorge which provide endless rushing streams, waterfalls and trails, took 40 million years to carve their way to the Pacific Ocean. It is a privilege to experience the pristine grandeur of this natural phenomenon.

* Bargain Southwest airfare is about $180 (round trip) fromm Oakland (you will be notified of that rate opportunity)
